I had a lot of VE+, but also had quite a bit of NBF:O (front O2 sensor in open loop). Turns out the ECM was also showing a code about the front sensor reading too rich. Changed the front O2 sensor and NBF:0 went away (after warmup) and VE+ was greatly reduced.
I still think auto tune is making VE values too lean, but I'm still experimenting.
So was there any other indication of the O2 sensor being bad? I was wondering about that myself. I've never had an issue with this bike but it's got a little over 50k on it with original sensors
No, there was no indication other than the code being thrown. Once I suspected the O2 sensor, I added them to the PV gauge and noticed that the front sensor jumped around quite a bit compared to the rear sensor. The new one seems more stable and it's no longer throwing a code.
I initially tried using a Bosch sensor but it wasn't the right one. I ended up at the local Harley dealer, who had 3 in stock. I picked up the O2 sensor removal tool - a 7/8 socket with a slot milled into it - at a local auto parts store.

Cool thanks I'll have to pull that up on the gauges and check it out. I already have the socket for it. Never tried removing one with the pipes still on though.
