Installed the TMAX last night and took it for a few driving sessionsandstarted to understand why folks here were so high on it. That was until this morning when Itried to startup for a rideand the bikecoughed and back fired through the AC. Can't get her to run so tried to link up to the module and could not. It read - "Authentication of Module ID failed" which to me means it's gone, fried or toast. Tried to pull the fuse and re-intiallise but same thing I can't link up to find the isssue. The fuel pump and all external lights/sensors come on when the swicth is turned on, so I'm stumped! Of course Zippers is closed until Monday and I'm in need of transpo! Thanks for any help you can though towardsthe new guy.
just a thought here.....disconnect your battery......let it drop the map....and start over through the process.......that is probably the first thing I would do to see if it will reset it'self.
I have a TMATand love it! I would suggest you pull the ECM fuse which should be enough to clear it. Ifyou disconnect thebattery be sure and disconnect the negative side first to avoid any accidental shorts. Reinstall the fuse and then re-initialize the TMAT. That means turn the ignition on for 30 seconds then off for 30 seconds THREE TIMES!!!! Then try and start your bike. If that doesn't work I would send Zippers tech support an SOS email as well as leave them a voice mail message. Their tech support is really very good. Ask for Randy!!!
One more thing - when you connect your serial port cable make sure all connections are solid. What's happening to you doesn't make sense. I've been following a very active forum for sometime and this is the first time I've heard of anything like this happening. Keep me posted!
I have been doing the right thing all day long and I'm convinced the ECM quit as the software andhook up is good. You name it I've tried it. I'll keep you updated after a call onMonday. I hope they back there stuff up, from what I here I'm not to worried.

I wouldn't worry for one minute - they are an excellent company and will stand behind thier products. Everyone I know that has one is totally thrilled with it - I know I am. Mine just keeps tuning itself and getting better - smooth acceleration and runs like a scalded dog. I think this is an anomoly and you will love it before it's over.
Looks like it was an anomoly, the ECM went bad. I guess it happens from time to time, even with some factory ones as well. You gotta love the benfits of modern tech but when it goes, you f*^ked. Shoud have a fresh one out on Weds. to get me back on the road. Thanks for lookin' out Bart and Steve!
Glad you were able to figure out it was the ecm part of it and they will send you out a new one. Sucks that it happened but you should be up and running soon!!

I'm surprised it failed but guess there has to be a bad apple once in awhile. I'm not surprised at Zipper TMAT support - they are very good.
