For me a reset and the latest Firmware did not fix it completely.
My PV has been better since I installed Ferrite Core Cord Ring RFI EMI Noise Filters on both ends of the cable.
Not 100% but much less freezing when displaying gauges.
I can ride and log data for several hours at times with no lock ups.
Good Idea!.. It seems like RF is the common problem with this issue if people want to believe it or not. It just seems very odd how some bikes have zero issues and others can't get a 100% fix.. I don't know much when it comes to the wiring/electrical field, but I wonder if anyone could confirm that even the dash area ( speedometer, lamp assembly) where it is recommended to route the PV wire under could be giving off some sort of "noise" and causing these freezing issues? Or the fact that the J1850 port is so close to the coil, which I think is why you used Ferrite Core Cord Ring.. Also should have stated earlier my bike is a 2007 FXDB, using a PV 1...
I can testify to RF noise issues with these bikes. Alternator noises, ignition wire noises, spark knock noises, etc can cause computer freeze ups and PowerVision is no exception.
Try running the PV cable as far from spark sources as practical. RF chokes are a help but not a cure.

Your issue is 100% RF noise. I had the same issue on my 2011 FXDB. Dynojet even went so far as to replace my PV and cable with new ones. Still the issue.
It would freeze within 2 minutes of opening the gauges or starting an autotune.
My fix was to add in some RF chokes on the line. The link is below for those. I added 2 up near the PV, 2 at the other end of the plug where is attaches to the bike and 2 on the bike side of that same connection using a total of 6 of them.

Thanks for the info, I won't be able to give it a try for a few month's, but when I do I'll make an update on if this improved the issue on my bike.. Optimistically I think it will definitely help. Still a cool product from Dynojet either way..
