My 2003 FLHTPI has a sputter going on in the engine. It usually occurs after the engine has warmed up and at highway speeds. It almost feels like it is running out of fuel. I can twist the throttle and the bike accellerates ok but once back to cruising it starts up again.About a year ago the dealer replaced the fuel filter and checked fuel psi(it had an idle issue).
I had changed the spark plugs and plug wires but no change. To me, it kinda feels like the throttle position sensor might have a bad spot in it because it seems to only happen in a certain area on the throttle. Just kinda guessing, I was hoping someone with some experience would be able to point me the right direction. Thanks
I decided to replace the throttle position sensor since the issue occurred in a certain position on the throttle when the engine was at operating temp. Since replacing the throttle position sensor the issue has not happened again. I took the bike on fairly long rides over the last 2 weekends and it ran like a champ.
