Starting issues
hey all. i hav a 90 softail with a modified EVO. this morning i went to ride and the starter was turning but not engaging. 1 out of ten times the bike will start. but while running the starter is still engaged. this is the same when i roll start it. any ideas???? thanks in advance.

hi, 1.check battery is fully charged, 2. check connections are all tight, 3, solonoid not functioning properly and lastly the starters playing up ie springs not throwing dog on to ring gear and when it dose its not returning . no choice but starter out you might be lucky and clean up of starter gear may save a new one, not sure what you mean 90 softail with modified evo engine installed did that include all running gear ie clutch primary and starter, hope this is of help any way good luck, [sm=icon_guiness.gif][sm=icon_guiness.gif][sm=icon_guiness.gif]
