So I take my 06 Street Bob to the stealer for my 10K service. I get it back, and I notice I have the little engine light going on and off frequently. I check for the code and get P0154 - rear 02 sensor open/not responding. I have the PCIII installed with the 02 sensor eliminators, so I try a few things, cleaning contacts, switching front eliminator to the back...clearing the code and still getthe same DTC again. So I guess what I want to know is if this is some kind of wiring faultor if maybe my PCIII is damaged oran ECM malfunction, or whether this can cause anyserious problems. Maybe they fried something hosing the bike off after the service (hell, they got water inside my saddlebags). Bike seems torun fine though. Im dreadingtaking it in, since Im broke. :P
The "open" code would mean an incomplete circuit, I would look for a broken wire, or possibly at the crimp in the plug where the 02 sensor plugs in. That would explain why changing front to back would not make a difference, and it isa pretty tight fit under the seat where the plug is for the original 02 sensor. you could trace wires back to ecm and check for continuity.
Could be the resister in the 02 eliminator went on a vacation. Try swapping the eliminator to the front and see if you come up with a P0134 code.
Tried that, no difference. I'll check the plug crimps, and then trace the wires for continuity.
The erratic flashing of that engine light bugs the **** out of me. I guess my bike was bound to start acting like a Harley sooner or later.
I also just found out my right turn signal doesnt work anymore. I think Im gonna have a talk with the service dept. [:@]
Soda, I have that same problem, it come on and off and is bugging the crap out of me...checked the sensors and they are all tight...I am going to reconnect the ECM connector as you did. let's hope that fixes it. thanks for posting your fix.
