Default Just Ordered TMAT...

Just ordered the TMAT & looking forward to getting it dialed in ASAP for a road trip in a couple weeks. Looking at the Zippers recommended map #275, AFR is 13.1 across the board. That sounds like a gas guzzler, so would I be jumping the gun by leaning out the cruise ranges to something like 13.8 - 14.2 AFR before I even get the unit? Or is this sorta thing best done later after the map is loaded & a bit of auto tuning...?

Mine was a little rich with the 393 map, fullsac true duals/wildpig slipons with K&N airfilter, and I set my cruise rpms at 14.2 and everything was alright. The mileage was back up from 30mpg and it ran great until I hit the crap gas out here on the west coast. Started detonating and running hot so I went to 13.8, it helped alot but pulling the long grades in the heat of the day still created problems so I backed the timing off a couple of degress. I will see how it does tomorrow when we ride to northern cal from San Jose. The crap gas with the ethanol showed up in Kingman, Az. , cut across that hot section of hwy 93 across Hoover dam into Vegas and it didnt like it a bit! Hot mother across there!

I changed the target AFR (across the board) from 13.0 to 13.8 and could immediately tell that my bike wasn't running as well as it did at 13.0. I need to play around and figure out how to change things only at cruising speeds.

I just put mine on about 150 miles ago. Its still tuning and I notice less and less decel popping. It runs and pulls GREAT. Starts RIGHT up, idles smooth. I love this thing. Worth every penny. I loaded the closest map (forget which one) I'm going to let it tune for a few hundred then start messing with the software some more.
