On the stickies. Power Vision has 9,015 replies and 2,491,860 views. Where as ThunderMax has 204 replies and 69,078 views. The ThunderMax cost more. But. I guess more PV's are sold. So. Does the Powervision require more tweaking than the ThunderMax? Does the Powervision design require/allow more tweaking than the Thundermax design? Why the great discrepancy between the two as views and replies? Just asking.
Don't allow yourself to be influenced by such things: there are lies and damned lies, then there are statistics! Much more likely IMHO that the Thundermax hasn't been around as long. Which one is more suitable is another matter. Also be sure that you're comparing like products, as some are replacement tuners, others are add-ons to the stock tuner.
The Thundermax has been around MUCH longer than the PV. It is my opinion only, but I feel the PV is a much better tuner allowing more access to the tables in the very powerful Delphi ECM. The speed density strategy is a much better method to tune vs the Thundermax strategy. Don’t be fooled by the “self tuning” advertising of the Tmax. It takes a lot of intervention of the software to get it tuned properly. While the number of views and comments may not be a fair assessment, in this case it, IMO, reflects the superiority of the PV.
It could just be that vision has a lot more problems getting what people bought into with advertisement.
Tmax comes with manuals and the option to go to a tmax school. If tech support is needed. You actually talk with the manufacture of the product. With vision. You get a couple of you tube videos and tech support is not with the creator or manufacture of the product. Tech support done by third party.
Thanks for the replies. I am going to pull the trigger on one of the two systems. Just trying to do all the research and get all the info, opinions , etc, that I can. Each system has it's own advantages and disadvantages and everyone has their own personal preference. I have a 2007 Ultra. Ness big sucker, SE slipons , SE 255 cams. HD Stage 1 download.
For the level of mods that you are looking at doing. A flash based tuner is you best bet. The aftermarket is way too focused on air/fuel when in reality that isn't half of what needs to be done to get a bike in a good state of tune.
Load based timing tables and the stock spark retard is much easier for most to deal with over TPS timing tables and no feedback.
If you are planning to get it dyno tuned, get the tuner that the dyno tuner will be using. It will do you no good if the guy you go to tunes with PV and you buy a Thundermax tuner.

That is kinda of what I do not want to do is put my bike on a dynometer. And pay that extra price for a one time tune. I am not looking to squeeze every last piece of horse power out of my ride. That is what a good tuner is supposed to do without going to a dyno tune. Right? I just want decent performance and good MPG. Powervision is looking like what of the majority of the riding population is going with. And. What my "indie" shop is recommended. Although they used to use Thundermax 90% of the time. Que Sera,Sera,
