Default Power Vision Headache

The bike when I bought it - 2009 Ultra Classic, Screamin Eagle fatshotz, original air cleaner, original HD map in ECM.

I installed a Power Vision last year and did an auto tune with a stage 1 map... no problems (ran slightly rich - slight soot on end of exhaust)

Rode the bike like this for 8000 miles

Over this past winter I have installed an S&S Stealth Air Cleaner.

I have run Auto tune again (1/2 hour ride) and very few cells turn Red

Installed original HD map and very few cells turn Red

Checked O2 sensors with Power Vision:

Stone cold - 5.10 volts Front and back

After warm up: Front toggles between 1.8 and 1.2 Volts, Rear 1.2 and .07

After a 20 min. ride I noticed the O2 Sensors stopped toggling up and down.

The temperatures here have been between 45*F and 55*F

Bottom line...I can't get the cells to populate

Could it be too cold to use the Narrow Band O2 sensors to Auto tune?

Thanks,
Steve

First check your Power Vision Auto Tune settings.
The big twin engine have different temperature settings, confirm your AutoTune settings are set correctly.

See page 24 of this document-
http://www.powercommander.com/downlo...utoTune.02.pdf

Page 12 lists the messages you will see in the AutoTune screen indicating why the PV is not "auto tuning"

A half hour might be too short to get the bike up to full temperature this time of year in Canada
You can see the Engine Temperature, ET, at the top of the AutoTune Screen.

Thanks Shanneba,

I'm fairly new to FI tuning and loving it, beats a carb anyday. I didn't even think to check those parameters. I just checked all those settings... they all looked correct but I set them all to default. I think (hope) the engine may have not been warm enough and that is the problem.

So it's raining today... hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to go for a ride. I set one of the Power Vision gauges to Engine Temp.

Is it normal to see NBF:0 and NBR:0 while off the throttle (ie coasting)

Is this when you are in AutoTune mode?
If so, NO.
Might want to attach a log for someone to look at, but are you sure you put it in Basic AutoTune mode and not Pro or TT?

Yes this is when in Auto tune mode. I definitely was in Basic with NB O2 sensors.
It flashes NBF:0 and NBR:0 while coasting and flashes them on off while cruising a a steady speed.
I didn't do a datalog session but I definitely will next ride. Can you think of anything else I could monitor while on a ride after doing an Auto tune run.

Maybe interference … how is the wire run and where is the PV?
The wire isn’t near the spark plugs, is it?

The PV is mounted on a bracket near the windshield and the wire comes up from the side, gets tucked in between the tank and the seat and from there over the top of the tank.
Thanks for helping

It stopped raining, roads dried up and I got out for a ride and did an Auto tune run with datalogging.

I've got the log but I'm not sure how to upload it. It is a .ppv file, hope that's what we need.

I also notice MAP:L was also flashing a lot.

Hmmm... new things to figure out.

It's normal......it means it's in OPEN LOOP and looking for any data!
