Hello folks, just picked up my very first HD today a 2010 Ultra. Get home and while going through the manual performing different tasks I realize it's starting to smell like fuel and realize it's leaking at the quick connect.
I've done my research and I'll see where some people replace the o-rings and others the whole system per HD recommendation. I would prefer to go with the cheaper o-ring attempt, however one thing I noticed when I press the fuel line 90° it leaks a lot worse to me that screams o-ring but I'm certainly open for other suggestions
I found a bunch of old threads talkin about where to get o rings is there any current recommendations?
Thanks

Kits are available to replace the o ring with videos on YT. I dug the old one out with a hooked pick and used a drain plug o ring per a recommendation...its the same size and fuel/oil resistant...
Lubed up the o ring started it and used a 8mm 3/8 drive deep Snap on chrome socket to push it into the grove. Did all this on the bike, on the side stand 2 years ago. I have had the tank off
a few times since then and it is still holding up. I had someone tell me you could just push the o ring in with the fuel line....
I took the quick connect off and the leak stopped, not sure how that factors in with the different O rings?.?
TIA
There is a valve in the tank fitting that closes to keep fuel from running out.
There is a o ring inside the fitting that seals the fuel line when it is connected.
Works kinda like a quick disconnect on a air hose.
If it leaks only with the line connected then you need to replace the o ring that seals the line.
Google it and you will see.
Strange. When mine went out and started leaking there was no oring. It was more like a rubber bushing that was not replacable. I was traveling on the road at the time and just replaced it all.
