For you at home tuners my question is what is MAP normalization? How does it work in regards to the tune? And do you guys ever change it to help tune or do we just leave it as is no matter what elevation you autotune at?
I have a 2009 roadking with powervision and autotune pro wideband o2 sensors. Elevation about 3000-3500 feet. Thanks.
MAP normalization is an adjustment that helps you to make sure that your MAP reading is consistant from about 1500 rpm to redline. sometimes there can be variations in the reading when measured/graphed. since ignition timing and fuel control both have to make changes based on this info, it is in your best interest to have a nice and even reading. when i set this up on the dyno, i can graph and view the data, then make changes in the table/map in order to obtain as accurate and stable reading as possible. hope that helps.

Hmm guess I messed that all up. I just pujuthe whole range at 1 and then autotune. I just street dyno so I assume I should just leave it at what it was set at and not mess with things I don't yet understand. Is there a procedure for us guys who dont have a dyno to follow? Thanks for your help.
If you are using the tts mastertune unit, you can collect the data with flight recorder, then view it, make with data master, make your adjustments to the table and repeat till it's correct. If you are using PV, i imagine you can do something similar with datalogs.
i would put yours back to where it was in your base tune.....a small adjustment makes a very big difference. Most of the one that i have seen are pretty close, im just am a bit of a perfectionist.
