Already have the rocker boxes off and the ACR's out. i can now add my ACR socket to my O2 sensor and spring keeper remover custom socket set.
My question is what the hell causes one or both to randomly just - open. started the bike in the drive way, put on my stuff. went down the road, came to the first light - engine light and idle dropped to 6-700rpm. good ol' P1655 code, only code.
reading up, they open when you press the start switch or in my case turning it to ignition which both of these do while theyre in my hand and i turn it to ignition.
so to "fail" open randomly while the bike is already started and running, im guessing there should be something else i should be checking. im trying to follow my wiring diagrams in my man-well but damn do i suck at electrical.
Generally it means that the ECU has sensed the line that it drives low going to the ACR as low when it is not driving it low. When the ACR are not actuated it should be high. Generally it means that the ACR is not getting power or the ACR coil is open or the wire going from the ACR to the ECU is broken. If you removed the ACR and reinstall them, I'd look for cuts in the wires and miss seated connectors. You should be able to Ohm out the ACR wires. Don't know that the resistance is exactly but it should be less than a few hundred Ohms. Could be as low as 10-25 ohms.
