Probably cheaper to replace the cps. It is a fairly common failure.

Thanks. I did order one this morning since its an easy one to switch out.

Pulled code

I finally had time to take it for a spin to see if it acted up again. Since the TwinTec module didn't store any codes from the first occurrence, I swapped in my old module since I know It saves the last 50 cycles. I rode around the business park here in town until it died, then limped it home.

I used the diagnostic wire to enter diagnostic mode and it flashed 41... crankshaft position sensor. Luckily that's one of the parts I preemptively ordered and have on hand. When I have a chance I'll take a look to see if there was any damage to the wires.

AFAIK the DTT won't store codes.. It will only flash them as long as the ignition is on.

I got the crankshaft position sensor installed last night then took it for a test ride, slapped the TwinTec module back in, rode it to work this morning, and also rode it during lunch. No issues whatsoever ever. Running good as new.

Hopefully this tread helps someone in the future.
