Ive had good luck with my PV1 & PV2. And yes Im a FM fan boy, theyve been great to me, even running a credit on a device I used for two bikes. Im a home tuner with a total of three HDs that Ive tuned, all built motors no pipe and air cleaner templates.
I do have a little understanding of Marcos dilemma. I run between 12-15 different programming suites for BAS and general control work. In the last few years its becoming all cloud based.
And that sucks. Between the licensing fees, connecting to the cloud to load the software, which is kind of hard in a secure site or SCIF. Its a joke, whoops we made a mistake, let me send you a firmware flash update for that controller. You go ahead and explain to the customer why we need escorts and access again, werent you just here last week? Once youve invested in the controller and software youre locked into their game.
I remember the days when if a manufacturer did require new firmware they had to send you a set of chips. Funny, they didnt use us for beta testing when the follow up was on them. I could go on and on with complaining about our digital panopticon, it can be cathartic but its still a waste of time.
