Hey Legends, So ive got a 2022 road glide ST, performance parts are CR480MT, SE extreme ventilator, exhaust is decatted heads and VH slip ons.Dyno tune last year it made 110hp and 128 foot.
Im looking at throwing in ported inlet manifold bigger injectors and a sp concepts 2-1.
Asked the guy who Dynod it last year and he said it will cost another $1000 to dyno as the exhaust will throw out the entire tune. The original tune was $1200 plus $400 for the PV licence. That's the standard for getting a dyno tune in sydney.
Am I being taken for a run?Or just cause I'm only changing the exhauste and injectors and manifold can I just buy a PV tuner with some widebands and auto street tune it by uploading the current tune from the ECM?
I am curious about dyno costs. I had it down 19 years ago was cheap. $1000k to me just isn't worth it. I get it some guy will say you already spent.... But that is a lot of money. Wow. I am curious if that is typical. I thought about going to fuel moto cause driving distance.

You've made enough changes it needs to be re-tuned. I don't believe street tuning will do as well as a proper dyno tune. The important word is "proper". These days I see a lot of videos posted of guys dyno tuning and I think at least 90% of them don't know how to tune. The dyno sheet is 10% of the whole tune.
Your dyno guy is correct. You're changing parts that make up a large percentage of the existing tune, the exhaust alone would cause me to have it tuned again. I'm assuming the $1000 is AUD, that makes it about $650 USD which is inline with what a proper tune would run in the states. I'm sure you could just run it as is and hope for the best but you spent a bunch of money on the bike so why cheap out now?
The bigger question is Why do you think you need more hp/tq? Unless you have money to throw away, you're just chasing numbers. Are you racing the bike?
Yes you can street tune your bike, BUT:
you will need a tuner which will be 400- 1200 US depending on the tuner. Another 600+ for wide bands. The biggest hurdle will be learning how to street tune. It takes a lot of time to learn as well as many data logging runs to dial it in. That is if you want to do it right.
My suggestion to you would be to get a tuner either a TTS or PV 3/4 and get a canned tune until you learnif you want to.

Horsepower is a lot like sex.
Way too much is never enough.
This is a 4th gear pull so a 6th gear would be about 120/140.
I ride pretty hard, it dies out at 4,000 rpm. A good 2-1 will carry it through to higher rpm

Bragging rights at the bar (dyno results) or race track (real drag times)? Huge difference!
