Default PC map change

Ok l reset my TPS value to 0 in the PC Now I want to try another map.
Do you have to reset the TPS if you change maps or just upload the new map?

Thanks
Barry

No need to reset when you load maps....it is set forever now.

Just load the maps and try them out. hope you find a good one.

Doesn't matter, when you turn of your bike, all power is removed from the PC, same as disconnecting it from the bike.
OTOH, now that you know how to check it, do it once in awhile for kicks.

The TPS reset just makes sure the Power Commander and the bikes TPS are in synch with each other so the map on the PC is reading correctly.

For example. If your bike is reading -10 at idle, when you are cruising at 20% throttle, the PC will think you are running at 10% throttle and read the wrong part of the map.
Small discrepencies will not hurt as the PC interpolates many values at every Throttle position.

AWESOME!!!

THANKS guys for the info. May help my 38 down to 32 MPG issue.

First I have ever heard of this THROTTLE POSITION THING!!!

What exactly do I need to do???

Connect my laptop to the PCIII, reload the map or just reset the position to zero??? What about that little bit of slack in the throttle???

Does my bike have to be running???

In the PCIII software the "set thottle position" is greyed out - probably until i connect right???

How do you actually set the zero point then???

THANKS AGAIN!!!!

Easier than me explaining, go here:http://www.powercommander.com/tut_download.shtml
Then under PCIIIUSB look at the tutorial on "how to set throttle values." Just reset the zero one.
tutorials go slow so be patient.

One thing, after I pushed the reset button the TPS value did not change to 0
untill I closed the Set TPS window then it went to 0. Yes the bike has to be
running and warm.

Have Fun!
