check engine lamp

I have a 1999 FXDWG. I live in the Philippines and we do not have mechanics who can trouble shoot problems on this kind of bike. My light goes on for 4 sec. when I turn on the key and then off for 8 sec. It then comes on and goes off. When I start the bike it comes on and stays on. The bike runs good. I do not have a Scanalyzer. Can anyone help me solve the problem. Thanks John

The light on indicates that you have a current fault logged.
