First let me say hello, i am new to the forum.. My name is Roy from Sebring, Fl..
The problem. I have a 97 ultra and i am getting a fault code 16, it is dropping the 12volts somewhere and causing the bike to die. I have a 97 and 98 harley manual. In the 98 manual it says they have a "break out box" that you can stick your meter leads in and test for lots of things. I am good mechanicly and have worked on and built bikes before, no problem. I am not the most computer savy guy but i can not find this break out box anywhere. It is harley part# hd-41198 which i cant find..any suggestions as to where i can find this thing?
thanks a ton
Wolfy
Not sure where you can get a bob(break out box), OTC makes them for Ford apps especially, along with most other makes. They make universal boxes, that you buy seperate adapter cables for different vehicles, and this is what you may need to do. If they cost anything like the ones for cars, they aint cheap.
wow, what a big deal.... after all day searching the net i found eveerything excpet what i was looking for. Harley will only sell them to mechanics and i am sure they are very expensive.. I am reduced to building one. Finding the connector has proven to just as big of a deal.. i know its a bosch 35 pin connector and Eldebrock uses them on the efi for cars, but i can find no one who sells the connector... this will make it much harder to build... I havent given up on finding the connector but will start with out and see if i can find one..
