Default Battery Tender Question

One quick questions, do I need to remove the red (positive) cables before I hook up the battery tender? Or can I leave it attached?

Always remove the ground (negative) cable from your battery when you are working on your bike. Then hook up your battery tender installing the negative cable last. When charging the bike you don't need to unhook anything, just plug in the harness to the tender.

Terry told you right, that guy knows his stuff. The reason for the neg. cable is that there is less chance of hitting the wrench on the frame (ground) doing it this way to avoid a spark and possible damage to the battery , yourself, or the chanrging system. Batteries can emit hydrogen gas when charging which is rather explosive in itself given a source of ignition.
