I've searched for this info but can't seem to find it for my passing lamps. Which silverstar bulbs (the number) would I use to upgrade my 2006 FLHRCI passing lamps? I've got the 9003 for my headlight and it is awesome.
RE: RKC: which silverstar bulbs for passing lamps?
If I remember correctly they are H3s. I think I had to open one to find out, as I could not find the info either. I have them in my 2000 EG, as well as in the (metric) headlight. One of my friends said, when I ride with you, I don't need my #&*^ ing lights on at all. I am very happy with them and have them in my car and truck as well. I have never had trouble with any burning out as some people apparently have. My.02
RE: RKC: which silverstar bulbs for passing lamps?
I would double check to be sure that your passing lamps are part number: 68208-98A..
Reason being, my new stock RK has a plastic looking reflector that has a weird looking new fangled lamp bulb with a 90* turn on the base and takes a Packard style two pin socketted connector!!!
I have had to get the part numbered lenses above, which are all metal reflector and have an opening for "H-3" bulb. I upgraded to SilverStars, They are GREAT!!
May want to double check your lamps before you spend the money!
RE: RKC: which silverstar bulbs for passing lamps?
Ram is correct. My 06 FLHTI has the same lamp problem (GE 891). I wasted 2 trips (one to return) for H3's as they definately don't fit. I am going to try the ST893 today - I suspect they will work.
RE: RKC: which silverstar bulbs for passing lamps?
I just tried the ST893 in my 2006 Road King, they wonât work. They hit the back of the light case. You have to have the bulb that turns the wires 90 deg. I searched the web and they donât make a bulb in silverstar. You would need a ST891 or ST 894. At least I canât find one. So it looks like we will have to change the reflectors. George
RE: RKC: which silverstar bulbs for passing lamps?
I just put the Silverstars in mine. I think they are ST891 they have the right angle. I am at work now and the package they came on is at home but I will look when I get home. I got them at Advance Auto Parts. Or is it 894 hell I don't remember I will look when I get home. I think I asked this questions before and somebody replyied with this part mumber. The ones on the 06's are different than the 05's.
