Ultra troubles
Beutimus day, was going to finish out at nearly 80*.......
100 miles into our trip, I went to slow down and the RPM's wouldn't come off. Running at about 3500 rpms, throttle working normally, we stopped and I looked around , took the throttle housing apart, all is well,just won't idle down.
We headed for home and about 10 miles later all of a sudden the engine will idle as long as I hold the throttle a little, backfires and will quit at closed throttle. At least now it's easier to ride..LOL
Got to the dealer about 15 minutes before the techs left and it's throwing a POP 505 code..? some kind of little motor on the throttle body.They are going to fix it tomorrow, I have a great dealer.He said it could also end up being the ECM, I told them it's under warranty so I don't care what it is.

I did.It was a set screw that served as a stop for the butterflies that the iac motor operates (that's why the iac code).....It worked it's way out backwards holding the throttle open until it fell out, then allowing the butterflies to close completely, and die.That's why I could keep it running but it wouldn't idle.
Not a service part, can't even buy one. HD had to take one off the ***. line and overnight it. They had never seen it before.
