kick-only starting
i have a kick-only 4 speed w/'99 evo. after sitting all winter it started after 3 kicks! honestly! ran for about 20 min. then died. i emptied the old gas, put in fresh. after thinking i've fouled the plugs, replaced them. still cannot get it to start. it feels like it's not getting spark now. i'm no mechanic but, i did build the bike myself. (had a shop tighten it up and tune it) so i'm somewhat mechanically inclined!
i've read here in the forums about coils going bad and running temps. or i wonder if the battery has just gone bad. i've read about the familiar sputtering that i've experienced before it died, i attributed it to bad gas. it started pretty easily last season and like i said, fired right up after the winter.

The ignition system demands at least 9.5 volts to operate or to through a spark under comperssion. As you kick make sure the bike is traveling through the valve events and that the kill sw is on RUN.
