Speedo reading high

Speedo reading high
My "new-to-me" 2003 Ultra speedo is reading 2 to 3 times high. \\; I searched the forum here and saw \\;a number of \\;posts about the speed sensor, but most folks with that problem indicated the speedo was dead and that the turn signal cancel wasn't working, etc. \\; All else seems OK on mine other than the high reading, although I haven't checked the cruise. \\; Odometer looks to be working fine. \\; Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks for the welcome. \\; I need to go the new member section and properly introduce myself. \\; Also, thanks for the response. \\; When I rode it again yesterday afternoon, it was working fine again, so it may be tough to pin point if it is an intermitten problem. \\; If it does it again, I probably do what you suggested and have them check it out.
