no ck. eng. lite
ok, here goes. \\; Yesterday, went on poker run. After abt 20 miles when passing, bike ( '99 stortster 883 ) started missing and popping bad out exhaust. Backed off and after abt a mile it ran better. \\; Pulled in for a stop and at low rpm, it seemed ok. \\; After abt. 30 mins. , started down road and within 3 miles, it started doing same thing. This time it would not recover and I pulled over. Pretty sure it was ign so pulled plug and would get intermittant fire if at all. After trailering home ,I got out the HD bible and started diag. That is when I noted I was getting no proveout on the ck. engine lite and thinking about it, don't know when the last time it did prove out. It is apparently temp. related as it seems to run fine today though I have not taken on the road. ( also much cooler today so may not reach the critical temp ). With no CEL proveout, diag points to ing. mod. being faulty and the way it ran , I would tend to agree. Your thoughts and wisdom will be appreciated.
