just got home form a ride to Lake Tahoe and then down to Yosemite and home - Turlock.. 2004 FLHTCI - has always been a good bike.. 60K+ miles... well maintained. On the way home, bike started to run like crap below 2K RPM??? not all the time, just every so often. Well on my way though Yosemite, it got worse... needed fuel in Groveland, CA - pulled into town - speed limit was 25 tried to drive through town.. Really ran like crap... got gas, let bike sit... called INDY - he says sounds like Temp sensor took a dump.... 60 miles from home... let bike cool down... took off, kept bike at 3K rpm - ran fine until we came to our first stop light - 5 miles from home... setting at light, yep.... ran like crap and died.... got started and drove to side, let cool and continued home..
Tomorrow, get new sensor..
anyone else have this issue... starting to read up on these tonight.
Just had mine replaced today. My symptoms were not as bad as yours, but pretty close. Sensor was saying the bike was hot when it wasn't. Running like a champ now.

If you can change a spark plug - you can change this... I went to the dealer - $37 - came home - put it in - 5 min - runs like a champ - no issues... first one lasted 60K - this one should do close to the same.... back on the road.
Moral of the story - learn how to check codes, carry a copy of the "List of Codes" make darn sure you have tow coverage - I have Ride America for $29 a year - will tow me to Closest HD that can take care of the problem.
