My dealer called, told me my 110 conversion needed the gasket fix. It's there now, on reassembly they found some issue with the ECM, checking with HD monday to see if the extended warranty covers it since I have the race tuner..??
Okayyyyy...
Anyone want to hazard a guess what would wipe out my ECM during the gasket change?? Rode it in, on reassembly the ECM has no data, nada, zip. Bike no longer runs..
Warranty will cover it, thats really not an issue. So far I have been told loose wire, pinched wire, bad wires. Regardless, I drove it in, it ran fine. So AFAIK, it was something they did.
Main issue is the fact that tons of time was spent on their dyno tuning this bike. However, since then they lost my map.. They called me today to ell me it was running again..
Minus 7 HP and 12 ft lbs of torque from when it went in..
One of the many reasons why they should give you the map when they tune dyno tune your bike. Failing that they most certainly should retain a copy of it for just such occurances. Considering the price of storage and the fact you can fit about 10k maps into 1GB they should be so lucky to do enough tunes for storage space to be an issue.
Agreed.. With the price of mass storage these days they have no excuse IMO. We all know poop happens, it's a fact of life. But for the dealer to tell me they lost my MAP, which we spent weeks developing since mine was their first 110 conversion, I am truly bummed.
I sent them my dyno sheets today, but I think I'm done. They say they it is better now than yesterday, but frankly I don't want the bike flogged anymore on their dyno while they experiment.. I'm heading down there in the AM to get the bike and the current MAP...

I know the feeling...my dealer "lost" my dyno map as well...really tough to burn a CD I guess.
