what is rev-xtend .why do some maps say rev-xtend enabled?

Part of the HD download from the dealer is raising the rev-limiter on Twincams to 6200 RPM.

This feature raises the same limit without having to do the HD download.

Note some PCIII maps are with and some without the download.

The rev-extend is a feature of the Firmware of the PCIII-USB Not all firmware downloads have it enabled. So some MAPS are written for the rev-extend and some are not.

This feature should only be turned on if you have modified your valve train to handle the higher rpms.

The HD download raises the rev limit to 6200 rpms without valve train mods being made. Why cant we raise it to that level by enabling the PCIII usb?

The map description may say rev-xtends enabled, but you have to enable it. Set it it up like you are installing a map and hit ctrl-f and a box should come up. Check the rev-extends box and your set.
