So I installed Thundermax w/AT on my '08 Dyna in November or December...went with the most recent basemap that closely matched my setup (as per Zipper's recommendation), and after a couple hundred miles, the decel popping has never gone away...if anything, it's gotten worse.
My setup is a stock 96ci, SE air cleaner, and Thunderheader......I'm at work and don't know the basemap number I'm using right off, but it was released in April 2008 if I remember right...I think the only difference between that map's specs and mine is that it calls for a 2-1 DD FatCat.
Before anyone asks, I am running in closed loop mode, did the intiailization, and have no trouble codes...

Any help?
Yes it will likely get worse as the auto tune does it's thing. Where are you getting the popping and in higher rpms or lower rpms. Lower, I can help you, but higher you need to play with the decel fuel settings. You must be 100% sure you have no exhaust leaks as even the slightest will cause problems.

Well, I don't have an odometer, but it seems like it's bad across the board...maybe worse at high, but it certainly continues all the way to me pulling in the clutch to brake at slower speeds as well.
Is there a way to tell if I have an exhaust leak? I was told before "if you have one, you'll know"......and I really don't think I do. The bike has plenty of power behind it...seems like the only thing wrong with it is the popping.
Short of putting you foot on the end of the pipe while someone else checks it with cig smoke, not really. Sounds like it's popping to the extreme. Don't think a map change will cure it but the exhaust may dictate the need for it. I take it there was no popping before the tmax and this exhaust was on before the tmax install? What map do you have now? If you run the smartlink software and in the tools menu check the autotune points anylizer. It will give you a good idea on how the map is working for you.

Thanks for the help so far, Ron. I'm gonna go take a look at the Autotune Points Analyzer in a sec......right now I'm using map 525. Wondering if maybe I should switch to 391.
It looks like a lot of fuel is beinging added to the rear cylinder. Sure looks like an exhaust leak at the rear head. Did you use new gaskets.
I had popping problems with the T/Max and new gaskets cured it.
Also look at the rear cylinder fuel flow to see how the adjustment points look. Mine had a lot of radical adjustment points.
If you don't have leaks stick with rbabos suggestions.
I used new gaskets on both heads when I installed the Thunderheader. I'm really hoping that's not it, because the thing is a pain in the a$$ to take off and reinstall.
