Default a few basic efi and PCIII ?'s

New to efi and such. Wondering...I am getting pipes, a powerc ommander, and air filter. After installation I plan on taking it to a dyno shop shortly thereafter, but it is about 1 1/2 hour drive for me. When I switch over, I knwo it needs mapped, but will it be a problem if I just install everything and drive it to the dyno guy? Will I need to get a map before driving it at all? If so, how does one get a basic map onto the actual unit? Switches or need to hook up to a computer?
Thanks

you will need access to a computer, then download a map for you set up off of powercomander's site and load it in PCIII. Its very simple, follow directions on their site.

Many of the venders that sell the Power Commander EFI controller will ask about the configuration of your motorcycle and load a canned map that will usually be close enough. A dynamometer tune will certainly improve the performance and is the only way to really get the PC III dialed in. If you did not receive the PC III with a map installed then you can down load one from the Power Commander website. If you know how to download and move files around then you should not have any problems. Just select the map that most closely matches your set up. Installing the PC III is kind of a challenge, because there is not a whole lot of room under the seat, but it can be done. Follow the installation instructions and good luck.
