Unhappy PC III problems

I'm trying to use a PC III from my 04 Ultra on my new 07 Ultra. I added the 2 O2 Sensor eliminators and tried 2 new maps - one from Fuelmoto and one from PowerCommander. Also have a Stage 1 breather and V&H slip-ons.

Both cause harder starting and a lot of exhaust pop on decel. And neither improve the bike's performance.

This unit really lit up my 04 Ultra so what am I doing wrong here?

Fuelmoto says the PC III should work just as well as a PC-V and suggested upgrading the firmware in the PC III.

Any suggestions or should I try a different tuner/ECm aotogether?

Frustrated,
r0ckie

The guys at Fuelmoto are generally pretty sharp on Power Commander stuff. If they suggested a firmware update then I would give that a try first.

Default PC III problems

How do I do that? I only saw Map downloads at the Power Commander website.

Thanks, R0ckie

When you say your using a Pc111 and not the pcusb, then it won't work. The older PC111 only work up to 2004, due to an ecm change, by Harley, in 2005. You need a pcusb or a retrofitted PCV for the 2007.

I just installed a retrofitted PCV from fuelmoto on my 2007 Ultra. Am very happy with it so far. But, I do miss tuning a carb bike.

I have a PClll on my 08 heritage and it too was hard starting and had some decel popping eetc. The hard starting was fixed by hitting the start button immediately after turing on the igniton switch vs waiting for the injector light to go off and it now starts right away. As for the decel popping, it disappeared after about 10 to 15 hours of driving. I believe the ecm module adjusts itself somewhat to the fuel air conditions or something like that, but your decel popping should improve with time.
