Default PC III/V questions

I am looking at, make that going to install one of these. Since I have the pipes I want and will only change the AC to a stage 1 unit, is there any reason to go to the PC-V? Is there a major difference in price? What kinds of prices are being paid? I've seen them on Ebay and the prices range from around $200 to over $325. Obviously there are some differences in what is being sold.
BTW, I am already sold on Fuelmoto so I won't be buying from Ebay. Unless it's one of the Fuelmoto auctions.

PCV is 09 only so I think your 08 is PCIII only.

I might be wrong. It happens but I don't think so.

funny you should ask....

I order the Power Commander from Fuelmoto Wednesday morning and received it today.....installed in 10 minutes and they had it mapped already to my specs....

for my 06 Ultra....the PC III was 279 and for the PC V would have been $299 (includes the mapping)

I think the only differences from the PC III to the PC V is

PC V is smalller and also you would not need the adaptor to power the PC V with the laptop......the PC V will get its power from the laptop and not from the adaptor (with the adaptor you have to connect it to a 9v battery to power the PC III)

By the way....the bike runs FANTASTIC....great throttle response....

I also have a friend who has a diagnostic computer...we ran it after the PC III install and I was not getting any trouble codes at all...

hey hammer 107 they've got the pcv out for the 08's and all the way back till i think o3 or so. through fuelmoto where i got mine, it's got a sticker on the box, says retrofit 08. if that helps. and it was just under three hundred bux. a lot of bang for the buck, easy to install.

Well that's good news. The Power Commander website isn't even up to date yet apparently.

here you go.....right off the fuelmotousa website

NEW Power Commander V Basic Features List
• Reduced size from PCIIIusb (less than half of the size of PCIII)
• USB powered from computer (9 volt adapter is no longer needed for programming)
• 2 position map switching function built in (map switch not included)
• Gear/Speed input (allows for map adjustment based on gear and speed)
• Analog input (allows user to install any 0-5 volt sensor and build an adjustment table based on its input such as boost or temperature)
• With gear position input connected the PCV is capable of allowing each cylinder to be mapped individually and for each gear (for example: on a 4 cylinder bike with a six speed transmission there could be up to 24 separate
fuel tables).
• Unit has a -100/+250% fuel change range (up from -100/+100%). This allows more adjustment range for 8 injector sportbikes
• 10 throttle position columns (up from 9 on PCIIIusb)
• Enhanced “accel pump” utility (increased adjustment and sensitivity ranges)

Retrofit kits for the PCV are available back to '02, but only from Fuel Moto. Advantages over the PCIII are size, features, more advanced technology, upgradability to Auto-Tune if needed, and the ability to connect an on-off switch without a $150 hub. The switch is used to toggle between two maps. For $20 more I wouldn't hesitate to buy the PCV, and as you already know Fuel Moto is the only way to go.
