Timing changes...when...how much?

Default Timing changes...when...how much?
I have a question for you guys with some tuning experience. When do changes in timing need to occur? I've had some tell me that the ECM will tale care of it, others tell me I need to advance the timing because of my cams. Any feedback would be great. BTW I'm using a PCIII so what throttle % and RPM ranges, along with how much to advance or retard would be most helpful.

You need to have a guy dyno the bike who will do the timing on both cylinders as well as the AF ratios. I don't know how capable the PC is for that but that will help quite a bit.

Putting it on a dyno is obvious, but totally out of the question. I was just curious if there were any shade tree tuners here that had some input about timing and cams.
