89 FLHTC Won't Start
I've got an 89 Bagger that has given me grief for almost 10 years now from it's starting problems. When I try to start it (the maddening part is that it doesn't happen all the time, just most of the time) the dash lights all go out and there is a fairly loud click in the starter relay. We took it off and took it apart (though they're not supposed to be serviceable) and noticed the contacts were dirty. I cleaned them with contact cleaner and sanded the contacts. Put it back together and tried it and it started right away! 2 minutes later it did the same thing, started clicking. I'm simply lost and super PIS&%$#@$#SED OFF with this bike given the years, parts, labor and money I've sunk into it trying to diagnose the problem. As far as parts replaced to find the problem:
1) New battery every year
2) 4 Voltage regulators
3) 2 Rotors
4) 3 Stators
5) 2 Starter Relays
6) 1 Circuit Breaker
Any help would be muchly appreciated!!!
