Default Left directional not working

Yesterday I replaced the stock Fatboy handlebars with Heritage Softail ones for more comfort. I have extended risers so it was a little bit of a reach with the brake and throttle cables but everything fits. The only thing that didn't work right after everything was installed was the honr but I played around with how the switch housings were positioned and then it worked fine.

Today I took the bike for a ride and everything worked great. I then washed the bike and then the left directional didn't work but the right one did. The horn and hi/low beam worked fine also. I got home and then when I restarted the bike the left directional was blinking, I then hit the right directional and both were blinking like hazard lights (which my bike doesn't have). I then hit the right directional again and it shut both of them off, then the left directional wouldn't work at all again. Both front directionals work fine when the bike is running, staying on solid with the headlight.

I'm assuming water got into the left switch housing and that's what is causing this problem. Tomorrow I'll disassemble it and make sure things look ok. Could it be anything else, like a faulty fuse?

With a "faulty fuse", the component protected by the fuse will either work if the fuse is good, or will not work if the fuse is blown. No middle ground here. You may have a loose ground or connection during the handlebar swap, or as you said you may have gotten moisture in the housings. I'd double check all the switch housings, connections and make sure they are tight before going any further.

I'd also check to make sure you didn't pinch or nick the insulation on any of the wires. If one of them is grounding out on the handlebars, that could cause problems.
