I have been having trouble with the turn signals on my 2000 Deuce for about 6 months.
Symptoms: If the bike is cold and I push either button (both sides work the same) the indicator on the tank flashes just long enough (about 1/2 second) to illuminate the indicator bulb. The bulb in the turn signal housing doesn't illuminate.
Once the bike warms up the signals work correctly.
They will also stop working if I spend a few minutes at higher speeds when it is cold out.
Repairs: I have replaced the bulbs.
Does this sound more like a turn signal module or a wiring problem?
I am having basically the same problem. I can hit the rocker switch several times quickly and the turn signal will come on, but when I cancel it I will have to do the same thing again until the bike is nice and warm. I do not however have the problem with the high speed.
Were you ever able to determine the cause? Was it the TSM?
Yes, the TSM fixed the problem. There is a flow chart in the service manual that will pinpoint exactly what is causing your problem. I would send you a copy, but I've sold my bike and do not have the manual any more. Good luck.
