Battery question
Hey all, I've got my first Harley, an '04 springer softail and have a question about battery life/maintenance:
I have read on this board about keeping batteries on trickle-chargers/minders and that it takes 30 min. of highway time to keep a battery recharged after a start etc. I commute on my new ride pretty much daily, and it's 5 miles each way on surface streets so there is a fair bit of idle at stoplights and 35-45mph riding. Will this be sufficient to keep the battery healthy? I don't want to slowly kill the battery via under-use, but hope that daily riding will be enough to keep it charged.
