I have two questions. 1. I recently had electronic ignition put in on my 73 ironhead sportster. I did not do the work. How do I convert back to points ignition? My bike has ran like @#*! since the electronic ignition was put on. 2. When I polarized my generator (installed a new battery) there was a spark on the positive of the battery which I know is normal, but, was the generator supposed to turn or do anything? My generator did nothing, all that happen was the spark on the positive of the battery when I touched it with the jumper.
For your first question, you need to get all of your original parts back or get new stuff, and get a good shop manual which should get you going with putting it back to original.
For question two, when you jump from the positive on the battery to the "A" terminal on the generator you should just get a small spark. The generator will do nothing. All this does is polarize the generator. You can also use the search feature on this site to help find answers.
