Unhappy Charging system problem ?

I have an 05 Ultra Classic. My problem is this. I staterd losing voltage in my charging system. Got all the way down to 10.5 volts on the guage. Took the bike to the shop. They replaced my voltage regulator, stator and battery. Said all three were bad. Got the bike back, rode about 180 miles, and the same problem came back. The bike would not turn over. Called the shop, took the bike back in for more test. Put two new fully charged batteries on the bike, and neither would turn the bike over enough to start it. It would drag and start clicking. Does this sound like a starter problem? The took the spark plugs out and the engine did turn over. The shop owner said he is stumped. Thinks it may be in the starter but he is not sure at this point. Anyone got any ideas? I am not trying to second guess my mechanic, I am just trying to get an idea of whats going on with the bike. I have already paid $665.00 in repairs to this point. Just wondering about how much more it could run me. Any feedback is appreciated.

I was really hoping to get some replies on this problem. This does not look good. I hope its not a major problem. The bike is still at the shop, I am hoping for some good news. If anyone has any ideas please pass them along. Thanks.

I would certainly be looking at the starter circuit. Do you get the clunk of the solenoid. If you do it could still be bad. The copper pad inside could be burned. If you don't the coil could be bad or the starter relay. Relay first then go deaper.

Pull it and bench test it. Unless you can get to the terminals on the bike. this means the stud going into the starter motor.

Got the call today from the shop. They started to pull the starter and found the ground cable was loose on the starter. They tightened the cable, the bike fired up no problem. Voltage was back up to normal as well. The shop is giving it a clean bill of health. I sure hope so.
