Brake light issue
Hello. I just got my first bike ('98 Sportster 883) and the brake light does not come on using the brake grip. It does come on using rear brake pad and it lights up just fine. Any help is appreciated.

There's a switch on the brake lever. The problem is with the switch or the wiring for the switch. If it's the wiring it's likely the connector at the switch. Since you just got the bike I would highly recommend getting the service manual. There's lots of repairs that are simple following step-by-step instructions with pretty pictures. Even with repairs beyond your own ability it helps to understand what you're paying someone else to do. So well worth the investment though the manual costs more than having this repaired at an indy shop.
