Odometer display CRAZY when wet
when I'm riding in the rain, my odometer display goes nuts. It just absolutely does its own thing. What i've normally seen happen is that it stops displaying the time (the default setting) and it gets stuck on the trip log.
Last night - while riding through rain between El Paso and Alamogordo, NM - it did that, but it also jumped to the time setting mode, flashing "12H" on and off.
Its absolutely bizarre to me. The bike runs fine, the lights and signals all function properly while this is happening, but I'm concerned that it might lead to other problems is not corrected. (plus I have grown accustomed to the use of my time display, trip log and odometer.)
The bike in question is a 2009 FLHTP (Cop Glide) and I'm wondering if some of the cut wire leads from the "de-policing" of the bike might be contributing to the problem. How to identify which, however, is a little bit outside of my skill set without some guidance.
thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
