major electrical problem
Ok so to start the bike is a 1989 harley fltcu which has been striped down to a bobber style. Since it was striped down the fairing and everything with it has been removed. so a lot of the wiring was changed or removed or cut.
Anyway I was coming home one night about 4am and it was a light ran and about a mile from my home the dash lights cut out along with the turn signals and the brake light and the tac stopped. Now I still have the head light hi and low working along with the high beam indicator light works. also the tail light works and so does the running lights on the turn signals work too.
I tried opening the dash and checking all the connections but everything looked like it was still connected. I also took it to my local dealer and they had it for two weeks and just said that it was a mess from removing all the fair and other items. I told them that everything had worked when I got the bike (which i bought it in its current state striped). They sounded surprised so that left me thinking they didnt really get a chance to go through the wiring. Though they did say to bring it back beginning of november when they have more time.
I had replaced the starter relay earlier the day when everything went. So I dont know if that had anything to do with it. I also tried replacing the breaker all the way to the right if you're facing the bike from the front, which I believed was the acc breaker but that didnt help. Also my bike has push button on the starter to start it as the start button on the handle bars was only working on and off. Though replacing the starter relay seemed to have fixed it until everything went then the handle bar start button stopped working again too.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why the turn signals, brake light, tac, and dash lights would all go out at once. Thanks for any and all help in advance.
