Default electrical/speedometer
hello everybody.im new to this forum stuff,but anyway,i got a 2003 dyna lowrider ..when i start the bike every thing is fine then after about a minute the engine light comes on and the digital milage counter goes blankand the speedo doesnt work.buttt,as i am slowing down,pressing on the brake lever and pulling the clutch in every thing starts to work .temporarily.hopefully someone has some ideas so i dont spend a fortune at a shop.thanks

2 things to check out. #1.Speedometer sensor located at top of tranny.Sensor is magnetic and picks up any debris.Pull from tranny and clean it.#2.Voltage regulator might be going bad.Test this with a voltmeter.

ok. ill do that,thank you very much.heres something funny,i took my daughter for a ride today and everything worked fine.go figure
