I just got some work done on my '09 FXDC. I had the S&S 106 CI kit installed which includes, new S&S 3.927 Bored Cylinders, S&S Pistons, S&S Super Stock Heads, S&S 585 Easy Start Cams, SE Adjustible Push Rods, D&D FatCat 2 in to 1 Exhaust, PC5 with autotune. My shop and S&S says that it puts out 118 hp and 112 lbs of torque to the rear tire. I have not had it on a dyno yet. My question is about my throttle body and injectors. Should I spend the time and money to have my throttle body bored out and larger injectors put in? Will this help with pulling everything I have out of this engine?
If it were me, I would get it on a Dyno first. The tech should tell you if you have maxed out your injectors. Doing the throttle body is a good question for your engine builder, methinks.
I woud be suspec of those numbers until I saw dyno results; I doubt that combination is making those numbers. It's too late to address the crank and Timken issues BFB64 made reference to and I wouldn't worry about swapping the belt for a chain. However, I would have the crank runout checked now and if you feel any unusual vibration developing in the future, you can measure again and compare with your baseline. If runout has increased, tear the motor down and send the crank to Hoban brother before you grenade the motor.
My engine builder assured me that nothing would happen to the bottom end. My bike runs like a dream and the torque is great. I want to bore my throttle body to 54 mm with the larger injectors. I haven't had any vibrations or any other problems. I will check out the crank, thanks man.
I'm running a TTS Mastertune on a Axtell 107 with SE 58mm TB and 5.3 Injectors, Woods 400-6 cam
The thing is tuned fine but TB is way bigger than really needed with this engine.
The thing I watched for about the injectors was the time in MS, mille seconds open, I think, at 5800 RPM.
You can calculate how long the Intake valve is open and how lone the injectors are open.
Main though is the bigger the injectors the more fuel gets in,--- at that time.
It all will get in sooner or later but this is more exact. Seems to me anyway.
I think I figured more that 16 ms was gonna go some where else or get in later.
You must have a Tunner that can tell the ECM the injector size, engine size, etc, etc.
