Just received my Power Vision yesterday, updated the firmware and made sure I had the latest PV software and installed a tune in minutes. Wow, the GUI interface on this tool sure reminds me of my DashDaq from Drew Technologies. I'm no stranger to these devices as I was a Beta Tester for the MSD Ignition DashHawk, then switched to Alpha Testing with Drew. I currently beta test my car with DiabloSport and iMiken DashBoss using my iPhone. The red power button on my PV does not seem to do anything so I was wondering if maybe I have a defective unit?
i was told the red button don't do anything yet for the user... The symbol is does look like a ON/OFF button... i think its a SECRET button and they DJ wont tell us what it does...maybe its a TURBO BOOST ?

The button is for putting it in recovery/bootloader mode when doing a firmware recovery. This is done via the Update Client, and when needed you would be prompted to press the red button. I haven't done this yet, nor has any other user that I know of, and that's all I know about it.
I think I found everything except spark knock? I seen spark knock advance and retard. Is there just a spark knock?
Can we play the data logs on the computer or is the only way to look at them is on the power vision plugged into the bike?
I just wanted to run some test data logs I did not set up my map for a tune. Fuel moto map is pretty close and I just wanted to get familiar with data logging so I am not fumbling around when I do tuning runs. Weird thing today bike stumbled in 2nd right after a start up 2 times almost like its running out of gas? I let off throttle then it was fine bike was warmed up and idle at 1000. not sure on that one. The funny intermittent idle I was experiencing I think I fixed? as today it never once acted up. The wire bundle going to manifold was rubbing on front head started to wear a hole through outer covering I have the bundle ty wrapped now I hope that was it. The fuel moto map seems to run pretty good with the exception of some pinging today it seems to be mostly in 3-4 gears. It was low 60's here today so I think its going to be worse when hotter.
Help please. I just installed the auto tune with wb sensors and I'm trying to download a map with adaptive control turned off. I keep getting a failed to unlock error. Any ideas?
When the PV asked if you wanted to clear trims, did you say yes? I have seen this error when responding yes to clear trims with adaptive control turned off. I responded "no" and the calibration loaded successfully.
If you think about it, with adaptive control turned off, the trims don't come into play. I planned to let DynoJet know about this issue and will do so today. Answer "no" and your calibrations should load.

There is a Spark knock F and Spark Knock R. I don't remember exactly what they say on the selection screen but they are there.

Once you download the logs to your PC they are in CSV format so you can open them and review in Excel if you have it. AFAIK there is no way to "play" them back on your PC with any of the tools in WinPV. Run the logs and have a look to familiarize yourself with the data but once you set for tuning, PV Tuner will do all the work for you.

If you don't have Excel you can view the logs with Google Docs, which is a free on-line service.
There is a share-ware app called Mega Log Viewer that's kind of interesting. It was written for MegaSquirt data logs so it's not 100% compatible with PV output, but after you trim the header stuff out of the csv file it's fun to look at your log graphically.
How do you upload the log runs into winpv. I have done a log run and when I try to upload it gets to 99% and sais unable to upload. Any thoughts. Help would be appreciated.

I have used it to look at the output and you are right, it is interesting. Makes pretty charts and graphs.
