Exclamation Engine light

My engine light came ON the other day and went right back out. Then each time I would start the bike the engine light would come back On for a few seconds after the bike started. Called my trusted mechanic and he told if the light went back out that the code was in history. He said as long as the bike was running good to not worry about. A couple of days later the light came back on just going down the road. Carried the bike to him and found the the Braided plug wires that had been on for months were causing the trouble. So for those that may be having the light come on for no reason and have braided wires that may be your trouble. I remove the wires and installed a new set of HD wires and have not had any more trouble.

One reason I always stick with the stock wires.

Ive heard of this problem before with people running SE wires. Like Dawg said, the factory wires work just fine and dont cause any issues. One guy I ride with runs Magnecore wires with no problems on his 09 SG but they are pricey and he admits he cant tell any difference with them as far as performance goes...
