Pops and Sputters
I have an 02 Road king with about 60k on it. Started sputtering more often, I changed the plugs and wires no better. I think the problem may be the coil when it heats up. Was planning to hit it with the heat gun and see if I can get it to fail. Anything else i should look at.

Coils rarely fail without causing a misfire which will result in a DTC being thrown. Mine's an EFI bike, had similar issues....sputtering, intake pops, hotter than normal running. I developed an intake and exhaust leak at about 30k.....exhaust flange nuts loosened up, one bad injector o-ring, and throttlebody was loose....replaced all seals, o-rings, and gaskets. Also cleaned all of the throttle body sensors. Runs like new. May or may not be your issue but it's something to consider.
