Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
I have just bought a 2006, EFI Dyna, it has the original exhausts but it has slip ons added, It has the exhaust sender holes but they are bolted up and I cant see any wires that would go to them anyway?
How would I fit a tuner if I dont have the O2 senders?
I dont intend to do any engine work just possibly fit a big sucker K&N type air filter.
Whats the best way of doing this?
Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like someone took the 02 sensors out. 06 Dyna was the first to use them.
Simply go purchase a set of sensors (bout 40 bucks a piece) and install them. Find the wiring on the harness and hook them back up. If the wiring is not there it is easy enough to replace it then go tune...

If the sensor bungs are plugged you may already have a tuner. For example, the Power Commander (PCIII & V) eliminates the O2 sensors, so check to see if there is a piggyback unit plugged into the ECM.

+1 on what nevil said. If you don't have a tuner then your bike should be throwing codes. Does you engnine light come back on after 8 seconds and stay on?
Also if you don't see a PowerCommander you may have another type. The Doebeck TFI is not a piggy back (in other words it won't be plugged into the ECM) but it hooks directly to the injectors. It will also have bypass adaptors on the 'harness' side of the 02Sensor cable connector. Some guys that have this setup have taken the 02 sensors out and put exhaust plugs in the hole. The bypass adaptors keep the bike from throwing codes.
Well ain't that interesting. I guess down under they don't have the same problems with emission controls. If you decide to buy a tuner, you would want to tell your tuner support the situation with your bike.
I'm wondering if your bike is even tuned lean like all the rest? That's kind of a perplexing thing since the ECMs are programmed based on that 02 sensor input. I guess HD just put in a bypass on those models.
Just found out that this 2006 model didnt have 02 sensors fitted when they came to Australia or other countries??

That's OK... see my first post. A 2005 ECM and up can handle 02 sensors. All you need is the sensors and the harness.... that is IF you want to do your own tuning.
