I've decided to do the stage I mods & add a SERT to my 07 Fatboy. I want to order it and do it myself. Not just because I'm cheap but the closest dealer is 60 miles away and may be the priciest in the country. I have a laptop & understand I need a cable also. Am I looking for trouble? What SERT & cable part numbers do I need?
I have a 07 RK and got my SERT off EBay, Lots of them listed right now. You must have ver F or higher for an 07. My version -01F came with ver "H" CD. You will need to buy cables unless you have some to borrow. Make sure box is unopened and check seller's feed back if you go the EBAY route. The manual is over 130 pages packed with all the info you need. Read it..and you'll have no problems.
No need for excuses when buying SERT. You buying the BEST tool out there for someone who wants to take back control of THIER bike and doesn't want to reley on strangers to wrench and tune for them. If you were to pick one of the other EFI tuner then excuses might be needed. . There are a lot of us that take pride in having a hand in on every change and modification done to our bikes, welcome to the club.
Thanks for the info. I've found an online supplier for the SERT 32107-01F for $357 and the cable 32108-06 for $27. Do you know if the cable is USB or serial?
