Default Fire ants!

A bit of history first. I bought a new 2011 Fat Bob about four months ago and put just under 1400 miles on it in the first month. I banged my ankle up and was on crutches for a month and then flew out to Texas for two months. So for the last three months all I thought about was being able to get back on my bike and ride. I get home and try to start it and all I get is a solid click from the solenoid. I figure, no problem, it's been sitting for two months without being run so the battery is low. I put the trickle charger on it over night and try it again. Same thing. All it would do is one good solid click from the solenoid. I call my local dealer and explain whats going on and see if he can squeeze me in. He told me it was probably the battery and to bring it in. After getting it to the dealer they load test the battery and it checks good. The tech. scratches his head and roles it the shop to dig into it. After about two hours he comes out and said he found fire ants in and around the starter relay but it checked good. He tells me he has to dig deeper and it will be Tuesday before I hear from them. He then tells me that he suspects that the damn ants have goten in the solenoid or starter and messed it up somehow. Has anyone ever heared of anything like this happening before? Is it even possible? I can't see any way an ant can even get in there. If this is what happened should it still be covered by the manufacturer warranty or extended warranty? I just can't believe my luck.

For some strange reason Fire Ants love electronics. I work all around the southeast on outdoor electronic sensors and on more than one occation I've had to "safely" remove Fire Ants from metal boxes and such.
