Hi brothers and sisters,
07 street bob. My bike had a dead battery after 3 weeks of ownership. I was not told about
using a battery tender. The bike has a fob alarm. The battery tender is flashing amber. The bike's
odometer is flashing and red key is flashing. help please what is going on?
The Flashing red key is your alarm indicator and will flash when armed. The blinking amber light on your battery tender means that your contacts to the battery are poor or reversed and could also indicate a defective battery.
Could it be the battery got flat enough that the security system is treating it as though somebody disconnected your battery?
I'd look in the bike's manual under the Security Sytem section to see what those flashes mean. (I just had a quick look in my manual for you, and there are different rates of flashing depending on what it's trying to tell you. I saw nothing with regard to the odometer flashing.)
As for the BT's yellow flashes....well the instructions that came with it ought to fill you in on that as well.
I have a security system on my bike and my battery starts my bike just fine after long periods of time without running my bike. The system shuts itself off after 20 days if I don't start my bike within that period.
